The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) issued One Vision a three-year accreditation following a three-day, on-site survey this past October, commending the organization for its dedication and commitment to improving the quality of the lives of the people it supports.
CARF is an independent, nonprofit agency that sets national standards for facilities like One Vision. In its survey at One Vision, CARF evaluated programs and services including, but not limited to, direct services, community employment, community integration, and policies and procedures. The accreditation process helps One Vision continue to improve its services and qualify for funding.
The accreditation, which extends through Nov. 30, 2021, applies to the following programs and services: community employment services – employment supports; community employment services – job development; and community integration.
When CARF visited One Vision to perform the accreditation survey, organization staff were praised for their level of dedication, compassion, and enthusiasm for the services they provide.
CARF surveyors said One Vision has a “long history of working collaboratively with community partners and stakeholders,” who reported the organization has good, open, and timely communications with those invested in the organizational operations.
“One Vision is dedicated to providing services to those with higher needs and taking extra steps to meet those needs,” surveyors continued. “Everyone we talked to had good things to say.”
In its accreditation report, surveyors noted several strengths, including the organization’s entrepreneurial spirit, which shows through in many areas such as community employment. Surveyors also included One Vision’s investment in staff and leadership development, its highly involved board of directors, wide variety of day-habilitation activities, and the staff’s ability to embrace change among its list of strengths. Finally, surveyors mentioned One Vision leadership is always intentional about seeking feedback from families and stakeholders and using it as a cornerstone for process planning and improvement.
One Vision services have been accredited by CARF since the 1980s.
